White Stone, TX Real Estate

White Stone Texas started out as a small farming and ranching community in the early 1900s. White Stone was situated on Spanish Oak Creek is southwest Williamson county and was named for the nearby white stone quarries. During this time the town had a church, a school and several businesses although not at the same time. The community and its residents lead a quiet small town life with a filling station and a small grocery store in the 1960s. Finally as Austin grew the community of White Stone was slowly overtaken by Austin. Today White Stone is an Austin suburb near Cedar Park.

The White Stone area has experienced extreme recent growth and since 2000 the population has almost doubled. Part of the reason this area has undergone such extreme growth is the recent popularity of Austin. As more and more people flock to this area the suburbs have been the recipients of these newcomers. Builders of new home communities are another reason the area gas grown by leaps and bounds. With the continuing construction of large new home communities housing choices are attractive and with White Stones median home price of just over $229,000 homes are not only attractive but reasonably priced as well.

Although White Stone is home to many newer communities, a number of older ones exist in the area as well. Most older homes were built from the 1930 and continued throughout the rest of the 1900s. Most of these older communities are spread out, in and around the White Stone area and new home builders have filled in the gaps. Today White Stone is a co-mingling of the 20th and 21st century housing and the result is a housing choice for everyone.

The Leander Independent School District now has 30 campuses and provides education for more than 30,000 students. Despite the large numbers, the Leander ISD takes a one on one approach with its students and the teamwork between community, teachers and parents make this approach successful.

The district as a whole regularly meets and exceeds goals including state educational requirements, while the students strut their stuff with high test scores and academic achievements. Part of this exceptional success can be attributed to the integration of sports and extra curricular activities that enhance the learning process, making school fun and keeping the minds, bodies and imagination of the Leander ISD students active and healthy.
