Sunset Valley, TX Real Estate

Sunset Valley was first settled in 1835 and over the next years property was bought and sold, people came and went. It wasn't until two brothers, M.H. and Clarence Flournoy bought up some pasture land that Sunset Valley was finally on the map. In the early 1950s the two brothers collaborated on a new subdivision to be built on their pasture land and despite rumors the two brothers were crazy, Sunset Valley Texas would soon have its first housing development. From that point on Sunset Valley grew. The community experienced rapid infrastructure growth during the 1960s and 1970s and on into the 1980s. By this time Sunset Valley was a full functioning small Austin suburb.

Despite its proximity to Austin and the areas recent growth, Sunset Valley is determined to maintain a small town reputation. The name alone conjures pictures of a rural atmosphere with happy residents living a peaceful life and that's exactly what Sunset Valley is striving to achieve and maintain. Sunset Valley is also home to many large shopping centers and strip malls and often residents, once they've left the tranquility of their tucked away neighborhoods, can enjoy the convenience of shopping and dining nearby.
