Lago Vista ISD has 3 school campuses and over a thousand students while Leander ISD, a much larger district has 28 campuses and over 20,000 students, and is considered an academic powerhouse. The district has achieved the Texas state goals set for all school districts while many of the schools within the district are exceeding requirements with ratings of recognized and exemplary. Both districts provide the learning tools and atmosphere to foster a strong academic base for the students to build and grow from.

Jonestown is nestled in the tranquil north shore area of Lake Travis. The community was founded in the 1930s by two brothers, Emmet and Warren Jones, who envisioned a thriving retirement community along the Lake Travis shores. The community enjoyed its peaceful and secluded surroundings but eventually things changed and the community in the 1980s decided to incorporate. Although many of its retired residents stayed, new younger residents were drawn to the area and the population grew.
