Andice, TX Real Estate

 

Andice is located five miles southwest of Florence in northwest Williamson County. The area was first settled is 1857 by Joshua Stapp who built the first school and church. The town was then named Stapp but was renamed Berry Creek a few years later with the inception of the Berry Creek post office. Andrew Jackson, a proprietor was named Postmaster and ran the post office until its close in 1879. In 1899 a local by the name of Rev. William Isaac Newton applied for a new post office and petitioned the town to have the post office named after his son Audice. The postal officials misread the name and gave the post office the name of Andice.

Today Andice is still a small town in Williamson County with a population of just over 3,700 fun and friendly people. These residents are a mixture of locals with family ties to the community as well as newcomers who love the old time feel of the town and have come to Andice for this reason. The community takes pride in its small town USA feel and strives to maintain a town where you know and respect your neighbors, family values are important and the community as a whole takes pride in its accomplishments.

Homes in Andice are affordable, with the median home price just over $150,000. In Andice you'll find a good selection of older turn of the century homes featuring the charm of by gone days, pride of ownership and reminiscent of lazy days.
